"I was in prison and you came to visit me. When did we see you sick and
in prison and go and visit you?"  “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did
for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Support

Thank you for taking the time for checking out the support page for the Kairos
Prison Ministry. If you're not familiar with my story, I am a product of prison ministry
myself. I wouldn't be where I am today without the love, support and encouragement
I received from those who walked with me behind bars and once I was released.

It's only natural for me to pay it forward, so I started Kairos Prison Ministry as an
outreach of the Kairos Community that I am a part of. For the last several years I have
traveled through out the U.S. and Australia going into prisons to share the hope I
have been given. My DVD "Dead Serious" is used as a teaching tool inside juvenile
and adult prisons across the U.S., Australia, the U.K. and Asia.

We are now on a bi-monthly schedule for both adult and juvenile prisons here in
Ohio and plan on continuing our reach beyond Ohio and abroad. We want to provide
tangible help both inside and once they are released. This will include job training,
G.E.D. classes, resume creation and submission, assistance with housing and
job placement upon release, parenting classes, and assimilation into a local
church upon release. While behind bars our desire is to expose them to an
authentic faith, discipleship through correspondence, classes and meetings,
and provide real-life counseling for the issues that have landed them in prison.

These services will be provided for both juvenile and adult offenders. In order
to do all this we need your help. We are looking for monthly sponsors of any
amount. Thank you for your help and support, we can't do this alone. We are
also looking for volunteers to help with events, services and more.

To make a pledge email us HERE with your monthly amount, then send your
check or money order payable to Patrick Davis to:

Prison Information and Statistics:

A record number of Americans served time in corrections systems across the
country in 2007, according to a report released Monday by the Pew Center on the
States. The U.S. correctional population -- those in jail, prison, on probation or on
parole -- totaled 7.3 million, or 1 in every 31 adults. America's prison population has
skyrocketed over the past quarter century.

In 1982, 1 in 77 adults were in the correctional system in one form or another,
totaling 2.2 million people. While Americans only represent about 5 percent of the world's
population, one-quarter of the entire world's inmates are incarcerated in the United States.
The People's Republic of China comes in second place with 1.6 million, despite its
population being over four times that of the United States. Through the juvenile courts and
the adult criminal justice system, the United States incarcerates more of its youth than any
other country in the world, a reflection of the larger trends in incarceration practices in the
United States. In 2002, approximately 126,000 juveniles were incarcerated in youth detention
facilities alone. Approximately 500,000 youth are brought to detention centers in a given year.
